PostSubject: Mrs. H-Town and some lyrics Sun Oct 03, 2010 12:01 pm

I remember on one of the board incarnations there being a topic addressing lyrics and what the meaning might be, I believe
Mrs. H was particularly good at figuring out what meant what about what. I was wondering if anyone is interested in sharing
some lyrics somewhere, I know Steve touched on all the music PatDad shared with him. We all probably have some music
interests in common, but there are some that are killer tunes from unexpected places or little known artists. Stuff we may not
normally listen to (artists, genres etc.), but can appreciate none-the-less.

Question any interest Question

I'm not sure how this works but here's some lyrics I treasure.

When you were young you were the king of carrot flowers.

And how you built a tower tumbling through the trees

in holy rattlesnakes that fell all 'round your feet.

And your mom would stick a fork right into daddy's shoulder.

And dad would throw the garbage all across the floor

as we would lay and learn what each other's bodies were for.

And this is the room one afternoon I knew I could love you.

And from above you how I sank into your soul

into that secret place where no one dares to go.

And your mom would drink till she was no longer speaking.

And dad would dream of all the different ways to die

each one a little more than he could dare to try.

I love that clip!

I can't say that I understand what all the lyrics mean, though I would have interpreted the song a little differently than Kyle.

There's also a claymation version on YouTube, but the sound wasn't as good and it was a bit choppy.
I'd also do that one up a little differently. Maybe I'll whip up my own music vid for that song. Might be a fun project.

It SO is! here's some lyrics to a song from Richard Thompson - Called '1952 Vincent Black Lightening'...
Must HEAR it to get the full throttle. (plus, I can't seem to
get these sites to allow copy and paste...I apologize Neutral )

http://www.metrolyrics.com/1952-vincent-black-lightning-lyrics-richard-thompson.html

The reason I have been thinking about this song is because the song called 'Little Lion Man' by the band Mumford and Sons,
reminds me of the ...I don't know...sound? lilt? cadence? of '52. LOVE both songs!!

Don't apologize. Its the way of the web. All the best user friendly things that allowed sharing words and images are going the way of the dinosaur.
See, computers and the internet were just too good of a thing. They had to go and fuck it up.
I bet there is a way to buy those lyrics for your Ipad or some other such shit.
But God forbid if you should just copy and paste them. Assholes.

I do like how you can listen to it thru a link tho.

This reminds me of Renaissance music. Cept a guy is singing.
Kool beans.

it's definitely a ballad...a bit irishesque (my own word) in it's sound and presence.

There's some really great picking, and a rather interesting story. To me it's reminiscent of mountain music.
